Writing Prompt #3

May 17, 2010

Time for more Story Seeds. Before reading on, pick a number from 1 to 5. That’s your Story Seed. Ponder the components of the story and let your mind wander. Try out a few variations. Try reinterpreting one of the story elements. For example, “snow” doesn’t have to be a frozen precipitation. It could be nuclear fallout. It could be flour. Perhaps it’s a metaphor for unexpressed sadness. Or the frosted grey hair of an elder.

When you’ve come up with a story idea, feel free to share it. If you’re comfortable sharing the idea, then let this blog serve as a communal creative space.

I know, right? I was thinking the same thing. These are TOTALLY randomized. I love it when they come up so perfect like that. I’m totally into the Edwardian werewolf meme. It makes me wonder what an “enclosed city” would be. Or what the deliveryperson would be delivering.

#4 – Angel in the Architecture.

The unnatural natural events of the Apocalypse (massive hail, especially) have opened a rift in the highest dome of St. Basil’s cathedral in Moscow. A construction worker, Vladimr Fyodorovna Alexandrovitch, is tasked with repairing the damage and saving a landmark. He discovers the Angel of Moscow trapped inside the dome.
